Shipping guide

Shipping your flowers by post

A simple, step-by-step guide to packing and shipping your bouquet safely, so it reaches the atelier as beautiful as on the day of your ceremony.

Flowers are delicate and every day counts. Send them as soon as possible after the ceremony and, whenever you can, choose an express service. These five steps keep your bouquet protected on its journey.

Materials on a table for packing flowers: cardboard box, roll of tape, newspaper, scissors and pen.

What you'll need

  • Sturdy cardboard box
  • Paper towels
  • Newspaper or paper
  • Tape
  • Aluminium foil
  • Scissors
  • Paper and pen

Five steps to a safe delivery

Hands holding a bouquet with the stems wrapped in aluminium foil to retain moisture.

Protect and hydrate the stems

Dampen a few paper towels and wrap them around the stems. Then cover them with aluminium foil to hold the moisture in during the journey.

Never use cling film or plastic bags around the flowers: as they sweat, they can take on too much moisture and spoil.

Open cardboard box lined with scrunched paper forming a central nest, with a FRAGILE label.

Prepare the box

Line the bottom of the box with scrunched-up paper or newspaper, forming a soft nest in the centre where the flowers will rest. Well-filled sides stop the bouquet from moving.

Place the flowers

Set the bouquet into the nest you prepared. Fill the spaces around it with more scrunched paper, gently, so the flowers stay firm in the box without being crushed.

Add what matters to you

If you would like to include a photograph, a note, the bouquet ribbon, your vows or anything else in the frame, place them in a sealed bag, against the side of the box and away from the flowers if possible. Also add a sheet with your name and a list of what is inside the box.

Seal and label

Seal the box well with tape so it cannot open in transit. Write FRAGILE and THIS WAY UP with an arrow pointing up. Send it by post or courier (CTT or a carrier), using an express service.

Shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

What to avoid

  • Cling film or plastic bags pressed against the flowers.
  • Waiting several days to send: the fresher the flowers when we preserve them, the better the result.
  • Boxes that are too large, where the bouquet shifts in transit.
  • Standard, non-express shipping. CTT offers next-day delivery (one working day).
